Save your skid bolt mounts from catostrophic failure! We saw failures in the skid bolt hangers between 9-11 hrs on the chassis, even with constant bolt checks. Our new brace is designed to fit perfectly in place and stiffen up the hanger. This brace is meant to be riveted in, and is made from mild steel. This brace is powdercoated to help with corrosion and looks. We have doubled the life of our skid monts by using these on our national snocross sleds!
Why does this damage happen? When you step on your running boards, they flex down, causing the suspension mount to bow in. When you ride your sled on track, the constant pressure changes from the body weight on the running boards make them bow up and down constantly, flexing the skid mount more and more. Over time the metal begins to crack and rip, until your skid completly rips out. By pairing this brace with our running board brace, you nearly eliminate all of this flex allowing for extended life of your skid hangers. after breaking the mounts on 2 sleds under 10 hours, we added this brace to some new hangers and never had another issue. we do NOT recommend you add this brace to an already cracked one, we advise you start fresh and replace the hanger first. PLEASE NOTE: these are race sleds, and take more abuse than any other snowmobile on the planet. We do our best to provide bracing that eliminates problems we find, but due to the conditions these machines see, we would like to be clear; A brace is meant to extend the life of the original part, not bulletproof it to the end of eternity!
